In the Irkutsk region, investigators detained the mayor of Tulun, Igor Karikh, suspected of fraud in relocating citizens from emergency housing.
According to investigators, in 2019, the mayor of Tulun, together with subordinate administration officials, developed and subsequently implemented a criminal scheme to illegally move people into emergency housing and their subsequent resettlement as those in need of relocation.

Investigators of the Investigative Committee, in accordance with Article 91 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation, detained the mayor of Tulun, and the necessary investigative actions are being carried out.
In addition, five more defendants have been charged with fraud, including the former chairman of the KUMI administration of Tulun.
