“It was a planned assassination attempt. They knew my route in advance. ” stated he.
Sagintayev noted that he decided to go with his colleagues to Republic Square and when turning to Nazarbayev Avenue, the politician’s car met with a black jeep.
“We had to turn to the akimat to the left, but we passed: they took us inland, closer to Satpayev. The jeep turned around, and automatic rounds started from all sides, ”the akim added.
Sagintayev said that the criminals organized a chase and wounded his driver in the leg.
“If not for him (the driver. – RT) professionalism, I would not talk to you, ”the mayor summed up.
Earlier, Deputy Akim of Almaty Yerzhan Babakumarov said that in the city detained at least 850 participants in the crimes.
