Television pioneer and former ORF general manager has contributed significantly to a strong ORF with his many program ideas and television formats
Vienna (OTS) – “With the death of Thaddäus Podgorski, Austria has lost a visionary former ORF general manager,” said Mayor Michael Ludwig, affected by the death of the “television pioneer” on Saturday followingnoon.
Thaddäus Podgorski invented the program title “Zeit im Bild” and was also the first reporter for this – to this day – highly successful ORF information program. In addition to “ZIB”, successful formats such as “Universum” and “Bundesland aktuell” also go back to Podgorski.
“Podgorski’s detour into acting is also noteworthy,” emphasized Mayor Ludwig. These included his role in “Der Bockerer” as well as appearances in the State Opera, the Volksoper and the Theater an der Josefstadt.
