The president of the Argentine Episcopal Conference (CEA) and bishop of San Isidro, Oscar Ojea, sent a harsh Christmas message, in the face of a complicated economic context. He assured that “there is no possible way to build peace”, if the bread does not arrive mainly to “all the boys and girls” of the country.

Along these lines, Ojea urged Argentines to “worry” to achieve that goal. “We must worry that bread reaches everyone, that there is no one who is not left without this primary good, mainly our children, if there is no possible way to build peace”, he indicated.

Furthermore, he maintained that “the Child Jesus has a special concern for peace, he has come to bring peace.”

“We truly have a serious concern so that food can reach all the boys and girls of our country,” he said.

And he continued: «If we do not worry regarding them, we become unconcerned, and if we do not worry, we will be men and women without horizons, men and women whose lives are not worth it«.

For Ojea, «God has become a human being and has come to share life with us; From the beginning, he has wanted to be a child like us and live the experience of being born.”.

“We don’t remember our birth, but it is a hard experience. We are all born crying, we come out of an environment like our mother’s womb and we are faced with oxygen, with light, which are hostile environments; “We find ourselves alone, small, crying with very little weight, totally depending on others,” he added.

To conclude, Ojea asked that God grant him “together with the Child Jesus, rescue these essential concerns that will lead us to fully live the mystery of Christmas Eve and Christmas, make us good, configured with Jesus to to be able to serve our brothers better every day«.
