May 9 Arson Case: Shah Mehmood and other accused’s lawyers ordered to cross-examine witnesses’ statements – Pakistan

The Anti-Terrorism Court of Lahore has ordered the lawyers of the accused to cross-examine the statements of the witnesses in the case related to the Shadman police station burning and siege against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi. .

The case was heard in Kot Lakhpat Jail against Shah Mehmood Qureshi and others in the Shadman Jalau Gherao case under the Anti-Terrorism Court of Lahore.

The court completed the attendance of PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Ejaz Chaudhry, Umar Sarfraz Cheema and others while advocate Rana Mudassar Umar appeared in the court on behalf of Shah Mehmood Qureshi.

During the hearing, Shah Mahmood Qureshi requested the judge that our trial should be conducted in an open court, that we should be given the right to a fair trial.

The learned judge of the Anti-Terrorism Court replied that the jail trial has been decided and the case should not be hung.

Later, the court adjourned the hearing till July 25, ordering the lawyers of the accused to cross-examine the statements of the witnesses.
