YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Former Eastern Michigan University football star and current Las Vegas Raiders standout Maxx Crosby has been named to the National Football League’s 2024 Pro Bowl Games, the league announced Jan. 3. The annual collection of competitions will be held Feb. 1-4 in Orlando, Fla., culminating with the flag football game at Camping World Stadium Feb. 4.
Crosby, who will be representing the NFC for the third consecutive year, has not only made impacting plays on the field to earn the honor, but also has been a standout off the field as well. Earlier this year, Crosby, along with his wife and EMU graduate Rachel, committed $1 million to the EMU Athletics Department and will see the playing surface at Rynearson Stadium be named for him. In addition, he started the Maxx Crosby Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to the support of teen substance abuse intervention, youth health and wellness, animal rescue and abuse prevention, and other charitable causes. Crosby has been nominated for the prestigious NFL Walter Payton Man of the year and the Art Rooney Sportsmanship awards.
With one game remaining in the regular season, Crosby has continued to make his presence known, especially in the opposing team’s backfield as he has accumulated 13.5 sacks and 21.0 tackles-for-loss in 2023. With 88 total tackles, Crosby currently ranks second among all defensive linemen in the League while sitting third in sacks and tied for first in TFLs. He is the only defensive lineman since 2000 to register 85-plus tackles and 20-plus tackles for loss in back-to-back seasons (2022-23). He has also recorded three multi-sack games, tied for fifth-most in the league, and is just one of six defensive linemen to post 10-plus tackles in a single game in the NFL this season.
The Raiders enter the final weekend with a 7-9 record and have been eliminated from playoff contention. Crosby can add to his impressive statistical totals in the finale Sunday at home once morest the Denver Broncos. The game is slated for a 4:25 p.m. ET kick on FOX.
