Maxime Prévot (Les Engagés): “I accuse governments of not helping anyone in danger”

The Engagés will launch this week a major campaign addressed to the population on the theme of “courage to change“. After two years of internal reflection, the party will decline its proposals for a change in society on various themes, with the horizon of the electoral year of 2024 that the president, Maxime Prévot, presented as that of the “victoire“with a great movement from the center.

The demonstration is made every week before our eyes that the alliance of the left and the right, that does not give a balanced policy of the center. It just does nothing. Fights, bickering between partners, yes! But strong decisions, a vision of action, a horizon of hope, nope. […] A great central movement, a great centrist movement like the one to which we aspire will be in 2024 the most adequate response for our fellow citizens in order to once once more combine efficiency and seriousness, responsibility and courage.“, he explained in front of nearly 1000 activists gathered at the Eurospace Center in Libin for a Day of Families.

The Engagés focus on six priority areas for action over the next two years: climate and energy, health and well-being, work and taxation, justice and security. In the context of the current energy crisis, energy was at the heart of many of the late morning speeches. “I accuse governments of failing to assist anyone in danger“, launched Mr. Prévot, recalling the situation of many households which risk falling into precariousness and companies in bankruptcy or threatened with being so.It is no longer even a question of the power to live but of the power to survive.

Les Engagés want to be constructive in the face of this crisis. At the beginning of last week, they formulated a series of proposals. And faced with a consultation committee with results deemed insufficient and marked by controversy, the centrist party recalled the dynamics which had united almost all the political parties of the kingdom around the Prime Minister in the face of covid. “This has produced results during the covid crisis. Why not try ?“, said Mr. Prévot once more on the sidelines of his speech.
