Maxime Gendron becomes president of the AGF Group family business, succeeding his father Serge Gendron, who held this position for 42 years.

Founded in 1948, the Longueuil company specializes in reinforcing steel and post-tensioning. It serves clients in various sectors, including residential, commercial, institutional, civil engineering and industrial.

The company has 27 business units (including 21 factories) located in nine countries, including Canada. Its revenues amount to 660 million dollars, of which 88% is realized on the Canadian market. To date, AGF has participated in more than 40,000 construction projects worldwide.

The group made the official announcement of this transition in a press release published on Wednesday.

In office at AGF for 20 years, Maxime Gendron brings “extensive experience and a new perspective to the role of president”, underlines the company.

Over the years, he held several key positions within the group, including those of project manager, vice-president of operations in Ontario and then chief operating officer.

“Being part of the 3rd generation of the family involved in the company, I am proud to take on this new role and to continue the legacy of my father and my grandfather within the AGF Group, surrounded by experts,” said Maxime Gendron.

Serge Gendron CEO of the year 2022

In 2022, his father Serge Gendron won the prestigious CEO of the Year Award, awarded by the newspaper Les Affaires, in the Large Business category.

For 42 years, this entrepreneur played a decisive role in transforming the family business, making AGF a world-class player in the reinforcing steel industry.

In 2022, the Longueuil company made a decisive move for its future: it acquired the French company EMCA, which specializes in the supply and installation of reinforcement for reinforced concrete.

This acquisition allowed AGF to enter Europe, participating in the largest infrastructure project on the continent, the Femern tunnel, which will link Denmark and Germany in 2026.
