Maxime Dupé’s Potential Transfer: Anderlecht to OGC Nice

2024-01-22 10:30:00

While he is scheduled to start this Thursday once morest Union Saint-Gilloise, Maxime Dupé might leave Anderlecht to return to France. The transfer might even be done quite quickly.

And yes Maxime Dupé… wasn’t between the poles this Thursday once morest USG? Normally, the Frenchman is Brian Riemer’s starter in the Belgian Cup. The poor performance of Kasper Schmeichel at OHL even suggests that Dupé would have a good chance to play in the weeks to come (read here). But obviously, the number 2 of RSC Anderlecht does not intend to stay in Brussels.

The team reveals this Monday that OGC Nice, which lost Salvatore Sirigu who left for Karagümrük (Turkey), is close to attracting Maxime Dupé (30 years old) to make him its new… reserve goalkeeper. A contract until 2026 would await him in the South of France. If the negotiations are quick, or if they are underway this week, nothing says that Riemer will line him up on Thursday. From then on, rather than Coosemans, it would be Schmeichel who would play.

For Maxime Dupé, it may seem surprising to leave Anderlecht to find himself on the bench in Nice. But the Frenchman, who had good odds in Toulouse, would thus be closer to his family and would in itself have no less chance of playing in Ligue 1 than in D1A. The competition with Schmeichel never seemed fair.
