Maxi Morales at 45 years old continues at a level reserved only for the chosen ones, which allowed him to return to victory in the tenth edition of the Cross Fiesta Nacional de la Manzana Triathlon, following several attempts. Far from giving himself up, he went for revenge over and over once more until he fulfilled his mission. After the conquest of him and the celebration, he poses new challenges.
The endless Road Runner decided to make a change in his sports campaign some time ago. He began to choose the tests and his appearances were sporadic, some achieving victory that allowed him to enlarge his story.
Last year he won the XTerra in San Juan, which allowed him to return following the Coronavirus pandemic to participate abroad, this time in Italy following to achieve the title in his category in Hawaii, and set a new record for victories in the famed Chapelco Tetrathlon.
Maxi’s story is well known. Everyone knows that at the time of the Coronavirus pandemic he settled in the Las Grutas spa, where he often gets ready in solitude for his challenges, such as the Tria Cross de la Manzana.
Morales, following returning to victory in the test that was held in Roca, the third in his history, left a message in which he stressed that “the years are just a number, youth is in our minds.”
He added that “this triathlon was won once more following 8 years, for me it is perseverance. I worked hard to be at a good level, because it was clear to me that it was not going to be easy to be ahead, due to the quality of my rivals”.
Maxi acknowledged that “as important as the victories are the people who continue to support me in sport despite so many years. The truth is, I am happy with this conquest, it is one of my favorite tests like the Chapelco Tetra, without a doubt”.
Morales’s agenda has new proofs for the future. The first, a new edition of XTerra in San Juan, where “I’m going to look for the passport for the World Cup, then we’ll see if I can find the resources to travel.”
Morales assured that “my other great objective is the Tetra de Chapelco, one of the most extreme tests in South America, in which I feel at home and I hope to continue being there for a long time, at least at a level that allows me to continue enjoying” .
