Telecommunications provider VodafoneZiggo fell victim to the same hack that recently hit NS and leaked the data of around 700,000 VodafoneZiggo customers, NOS says. According to a company spokesperson, this is mainly personal data, such as name and e-mail address. As far as the company knows, it’s not regarding bank details and passwords.

The information emerged through the data leak at the software company Nebu, which has the Rotterdam research agency Blauw as a client. In the case of NS, this is data from 780,000 customers and the data can include email addresses, phone numbers and names.

According to Blauw, fourteen of the company’s customers were affected by the hack. The company wrote yesterday that immediate steps were taken to close the data breach.

Blauw, NS and VodafoneZiggo reported the information leak to the Dutch data protection authority, as is the practice in such cases. A VodafoneZiggo spokesperson urges customers to be wary of emails, text messages, WhatsApp messages or phone calls from unknown senders.
