We are halfway through the 2023 Formula 1 season and Max Verstappen is riding an incredible run to win his third world championship. The Red Bull driver is the absolute leader and has an advantage of 125 points over the second best classified: Sergio ‘Checo’ Pérez.
After an incredible first half of the season with ten victories and eight in a row, it seems that the Dutchman has everything assured to win the drivers’ championship; however, he is dependent on the results of his partner, who would be the pilot most likely to end his objective.
The advantage that Max Verstappen has in points is equivalent to five race victories, so Checo Pérez would have to beat him to first place five times and assuming that the reigning champion did not score points on any.
In addition, the Mexican would need the fastest lap point or continue the good run ahead of his Red Bull teammate to ‘steal’ the lead. Adding to this, the man from Guadalajara would have more chances to win if he were in a better position in the remaining sprint races this season, since they are valuable points that might give him a better advantage.
All this is in a hypothetical case of how Max Verstappen might lose the opportunity to win another world title in the Grand Circus, because for now the Dutchman is focused on continuing to give his best performance with the Austrian team.

After the Formula 1 summer break, Zandvoort will kick off the second part of this season with the Dutch Grand Prix from 25-27 August.
At the moment Red Bull continues to dominate in the drivers’ and constructors’ championship, taking absolutely all the victories this season to place Max Verstappen and Sergio ‘Checo’ Pérez as leaders with 314 and 189 points respectively, so the Austrian team will seek to continue with the hot streak
