Max Verstappen, Red Bull F1 with a view to retirement after the contract ends[F1-Gate .com]

Active F1 World Champion and current championship leader Max Verstappen says he may “quit” his career in F1 following his contract with Red Bull Racing ends.

24-year-old Max Verstappen has a big deal with Red Bull Racing for more than $ 50 million a year until 2027. However, following that, the possibility of being involved in F1 in a role such as a commentator is excluded.

“You won’t see me once more in the role of an analyst or team,” Max Verstappen told Formula 1.

“I don’t have that motivation. When I’m not driving anymore, I want to do other fun things.”

However, Max Verstappen takes the example of his father, Jos Verstappen, who races at the semi-professional level, saying he may be holding the steering wheel of a racing car for fun.

“It’s good to be competitive even if you’re old,” said Max Verstappen.

“The problem is that I really want to win when I participate in something.”

But Max Verstappen says he doesn’t know how old he will end his F1 career or even sign another contract.

“We haven’t decided what to do following 2028,” Max Verstappen told Sky Deutschland.

“Maybe quit”

“I’ve been in F1 since I was 17 years old. It’s been a long time. I’ve already spent a lot of seasons in F1. You’ll want to do something different.”

However, Max Verstappen said he would definitely hold the steering wheel of a racing car in the future.

“I want to do other kinds of races, such as long-distance races,” said Max Verstappen.

“Or maybe by that time you’re tired of traveling all the time.”

“You may want to live a simpler life, or you may just be racing your favorite race.”
