Toto Wolff says he would ‘love’ to have Max Verstappen at Mercedes F1 in the future following the Red Bull driver admitted he would leave the team if something ‘crazy’ happened.
While Dr Helmut Marko assures that things have calmed down regarding him and that he would stay, harmony does not yet reign at Red Bull Racing and it will certainly take time to pick up the pieces… or make painful decisions .
One of them might see Max Verstappen leave if things continue to get worse behind the scenes. The destination would obviously be Mercedes F1, the only top team with a free seat for 2025.
“I would love to have Max. But first we need to progress our car. We owe it to our drivers George and Lewis to improve the car and give them good equipment before we dream regarding the future and the year next.”

Wolff believes Max Verstappen will decide his future himself rather than his manager Raymond Vermeulen or his father Jos Verstappen.
“A driver will always try to be in the fastest car that gives him the best chance of winning races and championships. That’s where Max is at the moment.”
