Defending Formula 1 (F1) CHAMPION Max Verstappen was the fastest in the first practice or free practice (FP1) of the 2024 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
Verstappen was the superior racer in the first practice with a best time of 1m29.659 seconds. Fernando Alonso put his Aston Martin in second place.
Sergio Perez completes the top three positions, 0.209 seconds behind Verstappen’s time. George Russell was fourth fastest following leading in the early stages.
Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz were fifth and sixth fastest respectively, ahead of Lando Norris, who was 0.5 seconds behind Verstappen.
Lewis Hamilton, Lance Stroll and Alex Albon completed the top 10 in the first 60 minutes. The session did not go smoothly for Stroll, who hit the wall at Turn 22 with his front left tire.
Furthermore, Valtteri Bottas is outside the top 10, 1.1 seconds behind Stroll. Daniel Ricciardo is in 12th place ahead of Esteban Ocon, Logan Sargeant and Oscar Piastri.
Ricciardo’s teammate, Yuki Tsunoda finished 16th. Meanwhile, Pierre Gasly, Zhou Guanyu, Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen, complete the next order. (Crash/Ndf/Z-7
