Max Verstappen (Red Bull-Honda) is truly insatiable. The three-time Dutch world champion won the United States Grand Prix in Austin, celebrating the 50th victory of his Formula 1 career.
He also scored his 15th success of the season in 18 races, equaling his record set last year. Logically, Verstappen should further improve it during the last four Grands Prix of the season, starting with Mexico next Sunday.
Behind the winner, Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) took 2nd place ahead of his English compatriot Lando Norris (McLaren-Mercedes). He therefore got on the podium on the day of his 100th Grand Prix in Formula 1. The two gave everything to threaten Verstappen, but nothing worked despite brake problems on the Dutchman’s Red Bull.
Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) failed in 4th place ahead of Sergio Pérez (Red Bull-Honda) and pole sitter Charles Leclerc (Ferrari). The Alfa Romeo-Ferrari were not in the running on the spectacular Texan circuit. Valtteri Bottas and Guanyu Zhou finished 14th and 15th respectively.
