Max Verstappen won a Chinese Grand Prix once more without competition. From the first lap the Dutchman escaped and no one was able to challenge him for victory despite two Safety Cars exiting the field each time.

Max thus celebrates with dignity the 15th anniversary of Red Bull Racing’s first victory in Shanghai in 2009 with Sebastian Vettel.

At the end of a brilliant race and skillfully exploiting the team’s foresight when the Safety Cars came out, Lando Norris won a well-deserved silver medal for McLaren. The Brit then managed to hold off Sergio Perez to cross the finish line 13 seconds behind Verstappen. Norris has been named “Driver of the Day”.

Behind Pérez, the Ferraris had to settle for completing the Top 5 with Charles Leclerc ahead of Carlos Sainz. Sixth place for George Russell (Mercedes) ahead of Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) who was unable to take advantage of his good position on the starting line. The Spaniard still set the best lap of the race.

Eighth place for Oscar Piastri (McLaren) ahead of Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), back from 18th on the grid, while Nico Hülkenberg (Haas) scores the last point at stake.

The Dutchman strengthens his leading position in the championship with 110 points. Sergio Perez is still second with 85 points. Charles Leclerc is third with 76 points.

The drivers meet from May 3 to 5 at the Miami Grand Prix, the sixth meeting of the season.
