Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic made NBA history by becoming the first player to record six triple-double, (among them with 30 consecutive points) in NBA history, while leading his team to beat the Detroit Pistons 142-124.
In that game, Doncic scored 39 points with 10 rebound and 10 assist. Ia surpassing Russell Westbrook’s record of five triple-double which was made in the 2016-17 season.
The Slovenian star extended his own NBA record with triple-double fifth in a row scoring 35 points or more. He added three steal.
“That shows the class he is at,” said Mavericks coach Jason Kidd, who praised him like the painter Pablo Picasso.
“He is at his best. “He’s able to score points and also to be able to find his teammates and then, lastly, to be able to get rebounds to help us defensively,” Kidd said.
Doncic scored 26 points in back-to-back first halves. That included 21 points in the second quarter. Kyrie Irving added 21 points for the Mavericks, who gave their team a 16-point lead in the third quarter and opened the fourth with a 7-point lead.
On the Pistons side, Cade Cunningham scored 33 points, 10 assist dan nine rebound. (AFP/M-3)
