Aprilia Racing RACER Maverick Vinales admits that he is ready to face the Indonesian GP at the Mandalika Circuit this weekend with a positive mentality.

This follows Vinales, who shone in the 2023 edition when he finished second in the long race, only three tenths of a second behind the champion.

“Mandalika has always been a special track because the atmosphere and layout are quite unique. We have a lot of fantastic memories here, so I will welcome the weekend with a very positive mentality. We are ready to enjoy Indonesia and its racing,” said Vinales as quoted by BetweenThursday (26/9).

Meanwhile, his teammate, Aleix Espargaro, has just returned from the second race at Misano, where he showed excellent speed.

At the Indonesian GP in Mandalika, he was determined to continue this trend and improve his performance.

“I really like this track. Last year, I was very competitive. I still regret the choice of soft tires in the long race which resulted in us getting a penalty,” said Espargaro.

“However, this track is very suitable for Aprilia and is a very special place, one of the most beautiful on our race schedule. The fans there also really love MotoGP. I can’t wait to get back on the track,” he said.

Located in Lombok, the Mandalika International Circuit has hosted MotoGP since 2022.

This track is 4.3 km long with 17 bends, including 11 bends to the right and 6 bends to the left.

The most challenging braking point is at the first corner, where the motorbike will slow down drastically from a speed of 304 km/h to 103 km/h. (Z-6)
