#Mauritania : Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani appointed a new government on Thursday evening marked by the departure of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, according to a presidential decree.
Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug becomes the new head of diplomacy, leaving the Ministry of the Interior where he is replaced by Mohamed Ahmed Ould Mohamed Lemine, who was President Ghazouani’s chief of staff.
The new government is marked by 15 departures and permutations. Holders of positions of sovereignty such as Justice and Islamic Affairs remain in their posts.

President Ghazouani has also appointed Yahya Ould Ahmed Elwaghef, former Prime Minister under President Sidi Ould Cheikh Abdallahi, overthrown by a putsch in 2009, to the post of Minister Secretary General of the Presidency.
The composition of the Ould Bilal government was unveiled Thursday, March 31 in the evening by the Minister Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic, Yahya Ould Waghef. Ousmane Kane, Ould Boye, Sidi Ould Hanana keep their seats.
The new team has four women once morest six in the previous one.
