London: Former Tottenham and PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino will become Chelsea’s new coach. Reports came out that the coach and the club have come to an agreement in this regard.
Former coach Frank Lampard was appointed as interim coach following the sacking of Graham Potter. Lampard’s contract expires at the end of this season. Chelsea will implement Pochettino’s strategy in the new season.
Pochettino has the distinction of leading Tottenham Hotspur to the Champions Final. Tottenham have been in brilliant form under Pochettino, fighting against the big teams in the English Premier League. Later, Pochettino coached Paris Saint-Germain in the French League One, but the team did not rise as expected.
Pochettino hasn’t coached a team in over a year since stepping down. He also has the French Ligue 1 title with PSG.
Despite sacking Potter and bringing in Lampard, Chelsea still have a disappointing season. The team lost six out of eight matches with Lampard’s tactics.
Chelsea have no other achievement after the Champions League title in 2021. In 1993-94, the club went through such a bad situation. With the arrival of Pochettino, Chelsea officials and fans hope that the team will rise to excellence.
