Mauricio Macri was admitted to a sanatorium in Palermo for an operation

The ex-president Mauricio Macri was subjected today to a scheduled operation in the sanatorium The Trinity Palermo, as confirmed by THE NATION. The leader of Pro, who was in Europe days ago, was hospitalized this morning and following surgery he is in good condition.

At the moment there is no official information regarding the reasons for the intervention or Medical part regarding its evolution.

The closest antecedent of a hospitalization of the former president dates from september 2020when he underwent an intestinal endoscopy at the Otamendi Sanatorium, due to the presence of a polyp in the intestine that had to be removed.

In that same sanatorium, in 2017, Macri underwent surgery on his right knee, through an arthroscopy performed by Miguel Khoury’s medical team. It was the third intervention on that knee as a result of a sports injury.

Before that, in June 2016, while he was in charge of Casa Rosada, the former president was hospitalized for four hours at the Olivos Clinic due to a cardiac arrhythmia.

Macri’s scheduled operation takes place a week before the presentation and release of his new book“So that”, through Editorial Planeta. In this new work, which will be in bookstores on October 18, the former president recounts his experiences as a leader in Boca Juniorsthe Buenos aires city and the Presidency of the Nation.

“It’s regarding my personal journey and what I learned on it,” he explains on the back cover.

“What for: Learning regarding leadership and power to win the Second Half” (as is the full name of the book) is his third publication followingPassion and Management” (2009), which details his years as a manager in Boca Juniors, and the most recent “First time”a rereading of his national government published in March of last year.

In 2021 Macri published “First Time” in which he poured the memories of his management as president of Argentina, his analysis of the Kirchnerist heritage and reflections on the vicissitudes that he went through in his mandate. The book was a best seller politician, with one hundred thousand copies sold. He reached that record following several Buenos Aires bookstores refused to sell the copies. In the digital pre-sale, it had sold out its first edition of 25,000 copies, forcing another edition of 30,000 to be printed.
