ACTRESS and singer Maudy Ayunda released her latest single titled That Day. This single was inspired by her study process. A strong love for knowledge is the common thread in the lyrics and melody that wraps That Day.
This song is more than just an invitation to reminisce. Maudy brings the theme of the warmth of friendship during school and raises the bittersweetness of growing up. An emotional journey full of color, reminding of the joys and sorrows of the self-formation phase.
Reflecting on personal experience, Maudy explained that the single Hari Itu was her way of giving meaning to the formative years spent in school. The song is also the embodiment of a soulful exploration of unforgettable memories from her school days that have shaped her.
“I wanted to capture the essence of precious memories at school and create a space where people could reminisce about their own experiences,” said Maudy in a press release received by Media Indonesia, Monday (12/8).
“Through That Day, I hope to provide entertainment in the face of the inevitable passage of time and encourage people to appreciate every moment more,” he added.
Through her new songs and album, Maudy is committed to presenting more authentic works, combining her expertise as a storyteller with music. She hopes that every work of hers, including That Day, feels personal and reminds people to always be present in every moment of their lives, no matter how simple. Because, every moment has its own impression that will definitely become its own core memories and leave a mark even though it is not as complex as adult life.
That Day marked the launch of the second single towards Maudy’s latest album which is planned to be released later this year. Previously she had released the song Cahaya, telling how her husband is the light in her life.
Maudy’s latest album promises to present a fresh perspective on her musical journey. Maudy views music as a powerful medium to express stories and provide social commentary. Exploration of universal themes, such as the phase of adulthood, self-acceptance, mental health, urban identity, and modernity are the main focus of this album.
