Maude, you’re still 5e rang this autumn…

Yes. And we’ve started shooting a new block that will air next January. My character is more in contact with Tina, the character played by Brigitte Poupart. She asks him for favors, among other things, to pay attention to Marie-Jeanne (Catherine Renaud).

What does this new season have in store for Marie-Luce?

She is worried regarding her world. There will always be dramatic moments, but beautiful things will also happen, especially in his relationship. Marie-Luce will do everything to protect her family, because she will be worried regarding her family once once more. We have some great things to play. He is a very beautiful character who appeals to people. I feel it a lot when I go to the regions, because it’s a soap opera shot in rural areas. I’m very happy regarding that.

And your character is still so close to her sisters in the soap opera…

Indeed. Recently, I went out for drinks and dinner with my four fictional sisters. We see each other outside of filming. It’s truly pleasent. It’s very rare for that to happen when you’re doing TV; it’s more common in the theatre. We chatted until 11 p.m.

Do you have other projects?

This summer, I shot in a show that I can’t talk regarding at the moment. I also participated in Chloé Robichaud’s film, in which I play the mother of the character of Sophie (Swamps). It’s a very beautiful role, but all in nuances. It was very pleasant to do. I will also resume The wolf at the Jean Duceppe company. I do all kinds of things. I’m happy.

Is it reassuring to see that things continue at this rate?

Yes, because even if I like to turn in 5e rang, I also enjoy doing different things. I am an actress who likes to have several strings to her bow. Theater is important to me. I can’t do as much as I would like, but we’ll do a week in Ottawa with Cher Tchekhov in November. It’s been an incredible success here!

Despite all these plans, did you have time to take advantage of the beautiful season?

I have to admit that I haven’t had many vacations… I’m in the process of selling my duplex in Montreal, because we want to settle in the Laurentians. We walked a lot between two houses, between the countryside and the duplex. It was a lot of back and forth. We bought ourselves a dog, a standard poodle. It requires a lot of energy! We love it!

Selling the duplex therefore implies that you officially make the leap with your lover and live together full time?

Exactly. Christian and I are going to live together. There is still a hut at the back of the yard where he can go and write… (smile) This is a new turning point in our life. For now, I won’t have a pied-à-terre in Montreal, but at the same time, lots of people are offering me accommodation here and there. This will therefore be an opportunity to come and see my friends and co-workers. I still kept my little cottage in Mauricie on the edge of a lake; I keep it for my son.

Edmond has therefore officially left the house. Are you proud to see him on his own?

Yes I am. He left home at the age of 19. He has his apartment. Everything is well kept and well decorated. He is a house man. He and his girlfriend are terrific! It’s really nice to see them go.

Will you take the time to pick up before the end of the year?

I may take some time in December. I’ll have to save myself more than three or four days… I’ve seen a lot of people go on a trip. I dream of traveling! If we don’t leave, we’ll take time in the countryside. I am very home. I can’t wait to start cooking once more, something I haven’t done much this summer. I can’t wait to settle down. I shop for wallpapers. It’s something I like.

Does your lover have any book projects on their side?

Yes, my boyfriend is on a platform called Pavillons. You can subscribe to have access to the projects of well-known authors who publish papers every Sunday. He also writes a correspondence with Normand Baillargeon for Éditions XYZ. At the moment, he devotes himself a lot to writing…

See 5e rang, Mondays at 8 p.m. on Radio-Canada. The film Happy Days will be released in theaters in 2023. The play The wolf will be presented from October 26 to 30 at Duceppe. For more information: duceppe.com. Cher Chekhov will be on tour at the Babs Asper Theater in Ottawa from November 17-19.
