In order to continue improving the transportation service in the city, the Mayor’s Office Maturin activated a control operation on Thursday together with officials from the National Institute of Land Transit (INTT), on Bolívar Avenue in the state.
This was reported by José Maza, Municipal Transportation Authority, who explained that, starting at 8:00 in the morning, the prosecutors of the transportation department will be deployed throughout Bolívar Avenue, together with road safety and transportation officials from the National Land Transit Institute.
He said that during this inspection operation they will be supervising the 67 public transport routes that operate in the municipality, to verify the proper collection of fares, that all units have the tabulator and they will be providing guidance to avoid sanctions.
The day is carried out in accordance with the instructions given by Mayor Ana Fuentes.
The official stressed that they will be providing guidance on the proper charging of fares and calling on drivers and collectors who do not have the tabulator to place it in a visible place on the unit so that passengers can see the real cost.
He explained that once the warning is issued and is not heeded, they will be sanctioned for not complying with traffic regulations.
Maza called on representatives and presidents of the various transport organizations to inform their members and affiliates that they must comply with the provisions of the Ordinance.
