Matthew Perry’s death investigation points to possible Hollywood drug ring

Matthew Perry, star of the Friends series, died on October 28, 2023 at his Los Angeles home at the age of 54. An autopsy revealed that the cause of his death was “acute effects of ketamine,” an anesthetic also used in therapies to treat depression, anxiety, and addiction.

Additionally, the medical examiner’s report pointed to drowning, coronary artery disease and the effects of buprenorphine, a medication used to treat opioid use disorder, as contributing factors.

The investigation into Perry’s death has led authorities to uncover a possible drug trafficking ring in Hollywood. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), in collaboration with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, is preparing for a press conference where charges, including involuntary manslaughter, might be announced.

Marty Singer, a veteran Hollywood attorney who worked with Matthew Perry for decades, has expressed concern regarding the actor’s use of ketamine and called for those responsible for its improper administration to be prosecuted.

“Anyone who was involved in the inappropriate use of ketamine on Matthew should be prosecuted,” she told Page Six.

According to information released by the American portal, a B-list actress, whose identity has not been revealed, is being investigated in connection with the star’s death.

The woman was reportedly close to Perry for years and the two were photographed in the office of a doctor known for prescribing ketamine. Authorities plan to review her cellphone for text messages that might offer relevant clues.
