At least one person has been arrested in connection with the death of “Friends” star Matthew Perry, US media reported. Perry was found unconscious in his Los Angeles home in October last year. A postmortem examination found levels of ketamine in the actor’s blood similar to those used in general anesthesia during surgery. In May, the Los Angeles police opened an investigation into his death to determine why Perry had so much of the drug in his system. ABC News reported that several people have been arrested and are facing federal charges. Other outlets, including NBC News, reported that at least one arrest has been made.
According to the US site TMZ, the arrests made in connection with the death of the star of “Friends” are “numerous.” They include at least one doctor and several drug dealers. “At least one doctor was arrested, along with several drug dealers who helped organize and deliver the ketamine to Perry,” writes the American site that deals with gossip and entertainment. Sources told TMZ that authorities obtained a search warrant for Brooke Mueller, Charlie Sheen’s ex, who had been in a treatment center with Perry, but the woman is not connected to the arrests. TMZ’s sources say that the search warrant revealed text messages that talked about Perry and the ketamine he wanted and what they were doing to get it for him. The messages also talk about the price the actor of “Friends” paid for the drug. Sources cited by TMZ add that law enforcement has executed search warrants and seized computers, phones and other electronic equipment to determine who supplied Perry with the ketamine that knocked him unconscious last October and caused him to drown in his hot tub in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles.
