Matthew Perry to remove negative references to Keanu Reeves from his book: Friends, my loves and this terrible thing

Finally, Matthew Perry does not assume the valve he had made regarding Keanu Reeves in his autobiographical book Friends, my loves and this terrible thing. And it’s true that wondering why Keanu Reeves is still alive when Heath Ledger and River Phoenix are dead is not very wise, and even less in writing.

During a debate held at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books on Saturday, the interpreter of Chandler Bing from 1995 to 2004 announced that it would remove two negative references to the actor from Matrix in all future editions of the book.

“What I said was stupid. It was mean,” he admitted. “I mentioned his name because I live in the same street. I publicly apologized to him. Future editions of the book will not mention his name,” reports NME.

Despite the proximity of his illustrious neighbor, Matthew Perry did not mention this awkwardness to the principal concerned. “If I meet him, I will apologize. It was just stupid,” he repeated.

An unfortunate comparison

In his memoir published in November 2022, Matthew Perry wrote: “It always seems like the best like River Phoenix and Heath Ledger go first, while Keanu Reeves is still among us. »

Faced with the outcry caused by the fans of the star of John Wick, the actor had to quickly apologize. “Actually, I’m a huge Keanu fan. I just picked a random name, that’s a mistake on my part. I apologize. I should have used my own name instead,” he said.

The 53-year-old actor regretted that this controversy diverted the book from its main object: to lift the veil on his fight once morest addiction. River Phoenix and Heath Ledger both died of drug overdoses before they turned 30.
