The Matteo Ricci Jesuit college, located in the Brussels commune of Anderlecht, was evacuated on Monday morning after management received a worrying email reporting a bomb threat, the area’s spokesperson confirmed Brussels-Midi police force. The usual searches having turned out to be negative, the students were able to return to school.

“The school received a suspicious email reporting a bomb threat. Management then contacted the police,” indicated the Brussels Midi police zone. Police officers then went to the scene and evacuated the building, located on Boulevard Poincaré.

“With the help of dogs, the police carried out a search to detect potential explosives, but this turned out to be negative,” added the spokesperson.
