In episode 1 of Koh-Lanta, The cursed totem broadcast on February 22, the adventurers met during the journey to reach their islands and Denis Brogniart. The presenter began by announcing bad news since he launched a first individual event for adventurers. The man and woman who came last in the event received the cursed totem. They inherited a bracelet and took the risk of having a voice once morest them during the next councils until that of reunification.
Lili and Yannick, first victims of the cursed totem
This is Alexandra who won the race. She won an advantage: that of becoming team leader, and therefore being able to build it. In men, it is Jean Philippe who won it. Lili finished last women, she then suffered the curse of the totem. Same fate for Yannick. If one of the two participants was eliminated during a council, they had to transmit the curse to the candidates of their choice. The two team leaders had to appoint a third person who constituted the 3rd team. And it was Céline who formed the purple team with, in particular, the young Mattéo. The one who said very affected to have been chosen last to join a team gave a live on Instagram on February 27. After pushing a rant regarding cheating cases which disrupted the last season, Mattéo was asked regarding possible negative repercussions following his participation in Koh-Lantahe who is a dancer, currently on a professional contract.
The doctors were worried regarding Matteo
The opportunity to discuss his medical examination which he had to pass in order to control his ability to participate in the game of TF1. “You know that when we pass the casting, we see doctors and they told me, that they were not going to declare me unfit, because I was fit, but thatthey worried regarding me because I am 20 years old, I am at the start of my career, I am in the process of professionalizing myself, so this is one of the most important moments for my career. Indeed, in Koh-Lanta, you can get hurt, we can have very very heavy physical sequelae. I was told: ‘If you don’t go too far in the game it’s fine, but if you go far, it’s going to be super violent and you’ll take time to recover’. I took the risk, I didn’t hurt myself (…) Everything is fine, I was very lucky not to hurt myself; I have no irreversible injuries that prevent me from dancing. But yes it was a risk i was willing to take to do Koh-Lanta because it was a dream, and because I wanted to show it to everyone”, Matteo explained.
The sequence is to be found at 27min50 from the start of the video below.
