Before the joint Christmas album entitled “A Family Christmas” will be released on October 21, 2022 via Decca/Capitol Records, Matteo, Andrea and Virginia Bocelli will first release the single “The Greatest Gift” (release: September 16, 2022).
The world-famous tenor Andrea Bocelli has recorded their first album together with his 24-year-old son Matteo and his ten-year-old daughter Virginia – two generations unite their artistic talents in Christmas classics. Decca/Capitol Records will release “A Family Christmas” on October 21, 2022.
The pre-release single was “The Greatest Gift”, a piece about peace and love at Christmas time written and arranged especially for the new release. Andrea, Matteo and Virginia sing together in perfect harmony as the music rises to a rousing finale with choir and strings.
The album was produced by acclaimed, multiple Grammy® and Oscar® nominated composer Stephan Moccio (Céline Dion, The Weeknd, Miley Cyrus, Barbra Streisand). He also co-wrote The Greatest Gift and other new arrangements with Amy Wadge, Jonas Myrin and Andrea Bocelli.
“Our album is a small, private and heartfelt gift to all those who want to enjoy the sound of Christmas at Bocelli,” says the family. The album opens brilliantly with “Do You Hear What I Hear?”. This is followed by new interpretations of traditional Christmas carols, here arranged for three voices, including “Away in a Manger” and “Joy To The World”, as well as Christmas classics from around the world, such as “Feliz Navidad” and the brand new piece “Il Giorno Piu Speciale”. ‘, written by Federica Abbate, Cheope, Katoo and Andrea Bocelli.
Whether in solo pieces, duets or trios, everyone in the family can shine on this album. For Virginia Bocelli it is the first recording ever. In 2020 she sang “Hallelujah” with her father in the extremely popular concert Believe in Christmas, which was broadcast live from the Teatro Regio di Parma. She provides the tender prelude to “Away in a Manger” and “Over the Rainbow” and sings a solo on “When Christmas Comes to Town”.

“A Family Christmas” builds on the success of the solo album “My Christmas”. This Andrea Bocelli classic is reissued as a special edition white and gold vinyl on two LPs and also as a remastered Fireside digital release. The new version, which will be released on Decca Records on November 4th, is available in the immersive sound format Dolby Atmos.
