Matisse Thybulle to fill the defensive air holes in Dallas?

After recovering Kyrie Irving and letting the exemplary Dorian Finney-Smith and the no less useful Spencer Dinwiddie go in return, the Mavs are now looking to smooth the contours of their new roster. The goal now? Add a little defense to all that, and Matisse Thybulle might be a target.

Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic on a backcourt? Phew, watch your eyes.

But Kyrie and Luka in defense? Without Dorian Finney-Smith to save their ass? Attention.

That’s pretty much what Mark Cuban or more probably Nico Harrison and Michael Finley, responsible for everything related to the field at the Mavericks, must say. According to Vincent Goodwill of Yahoo Sports, the Texas franchise would in any case be willing to bring a little toughness to its back lines and the name of Matisse Thybulle recently filtered through the plains. An elite defender but a huge offensive hole, the 2019 Draft No. 20 started last season with the Sixers but has since slipped in the rotation, that’s what it’s like to be an offensive mix between Andre Roberson and drunk Tony Allen.

The Philadelphia franchise has repeatedly hinted that some of its players should consider looking for a home elsewhere, first and foremost Furkan Korkmaz, and the painter as well as Jaden Springer have all of the next candidates for departure.

So, a little help in Dallas to fill the air holes of the brilliant pair of Texan leaders? The idea is good but one thing is certain, it will not take Frank Ntilikina off the bench, oh the beautiful lost ball.
