The conditions under which women are currently having children in Gaza are extreme. According to current estimates, 5,500 women will give birth there in the next four weeks. 40 percent of pregnancies are high-risk pregnancies. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that a total of 50,000 women are currently pregnant in Gaza. Unicef estimates that 20,000 babies have been born there since the war began.
