Match TV published Papadakis’s words about the absence of Russian skaters at the 2022 World Cup. In fact, her partner said it – Sizeron – Figure Skating

The comment regarding the removal of Russian figure skaters from the World Cup belonged to the Olympic champion from France, Guillaume Sizeron, and not to his partner.

Previously “Match TV” with reference to RTLSport gave the words of Sizeron’s partner – Gabriela Papadakis (the news is still on the site). In fact, the partner commented on the situation with Russia’s non-participation – you can listen to an excerpt from the podcast in French here (from 23:14).

Here is the correct translation of Sizeron’s words:

– I admit that the absence of Russians at the World Cup is something special.

They lost a lot of trust from other skaters. Not only because of the situation in Ukraine, but also because of doping. They are looked askance at, and without their presence there may have been less tension than usual.

Last week, many of them were at the stadium where Putin spoke.

– True, we do not know for sure whether this “freedom march” was honest or paid. But this championship cannot be held with the participation of Russian athletes. This would be incorrect.

I think we tried to make a cool performance to give people a little joy for a short moment, despite the situation in the world, Sizeron said on the RTLSport podcast.
