Mastering the Digital Landscape: Your Ultimate Guide to Informatics

In this way, another announcement is implemented, which was included in the context of the 11+1 changes presented a few weeks ago by the Minister of Education, Religion and Sports Kyriakos Pierrakakis to Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

The Additional Digital Handbook was created by the Institute for Educational Policy (IEP) in order to enhance the work of teachers, providing additional tools and modern content that responds to the technological developments and pedagogical needs of our time. The books of each class are available on the page

It is clarified that this material for the school year 2024-2025 does not replace the existing school textbooks, but comes to strengthen them and offer a modern perspective to the teaching process with sections such as: Data Analysis, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, Programming with the Python language , Robotics, Collaborative Online Environments, in addition to Algorithmics, Networks and the Internet, Architecture of Digital Technologies, and subjects relating Information Technology to Society.

The project was coordinated by the staff of the IEP, in the framework of the “Together for Education” initiative. Nineteen (19) IT Education Consultants, Mr. Penelope Athanasakou, Georgia Alexouda, Pantelis Volonakis, Evripides Vrachnos, Georgios Gogoulos, Efstratios Diamantis, Georgios Zachos, Athena Kokkori, Evangelia Kolega, Evangelia Makraki, Konstantinos Maragos, Antonios Maritsas, Dimitrios Mastorodimos, Eleni Bamp alona, Stavroula Pantelopoulou, Spyridon Papadakis , Simeon Symeonidis and Sofia Tzelepi, with the scientific supervision of the NTUA Professor Mr. Nektarios Kozyris and the help of the IT Consultants of the IEP, Mr. Constantinou Zerva and Olgas Vlouhakis, worked intensively for 8 months responding to the need to renew the content of High School Informatics textbooks.

The working group participated in the effort unpaid and with the sole aim of offering to the educational community. Their collective effort highlights the value of cooperation and commitment to the common goal of improving the education of male and female students.

The Minister of Education, Religion and Sports Kyriakos Pierrakakis and the Board of Directors of the IEP warmly thank the working group for its valuable contribution to this demanding project, as well as the officers of the scientific and administrative service of the IEP who worked for the completion of the project.

Schools – Digital Tutoring: Tomorrow the official premiere – Reinforcement teaching in 45 subjects, live lectures for 120,000 students of the 3rd Lyceum

On Tuesday (17/9) the Digital Tutoring will officially premiere for the students of the 3rd high school. The Ministry of Education has characterized it as the “great innovation” of this school year, a “tool to reduce inequalities”, as the Minister of Education, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, said about it in a recent TV interview, and this tool is aimed at students as a whole and female students from 5th grade to 3rd high school. On the platform digitalschool.gov.grthe approximately 120,000 students of the 3rd Lyceum can register and have free access to live lectures during the evening hours.

From the point of view of the government and the Ministry of Education, special emphasis has been placed on the implementation of the Digital School, which is part of the general plan for the Digital School, presented last May by the Prime Minister and the Minister of Education himself, with the aim of strengthening the educational process in all classes of the school.

According to information from APE-MBE, it is not excluded that there will soon be a more detailed presentation of the Digital Tutorial by the political leadership of the ministry.

Every candidate for admission to Higher Education through the National Examinations will have free access to the Digital Tutoring, thus having the opportunity to watch, during the evening hours, live, lectures for all the material in the courses being examined, including special courses, such as linear and architectural design, German and French.

Digital tutorial: Reinforcement teaching in 45 lessons

In total, 98 teachers will provide students with personalized support during remedial teaching in the 45 subjects that are tested nationwide in June in General and Vocational High Schools. Also, the teaching will concern 10 Special Education courses for the Unified Special Vocational High Schools and High Schools.

Students will have the opportunity to participate interactively during the lessons, while they will also have the opportunity to follow the entire curriculum in electronic format.

Finally, it is worth noting that in the Digital Tutoring there will be educational material for all grades from the 5th Primary to the 3rd High School.

Already, according to a relevant update from the Ministry of Education, the material from the Modern Greek Language and Mathematics courses for all classes of the High School is available in the Digital Tuition Center, while by the end of 2025, 2,500 comprehensible and digitized videos will have been posted for a total of 49 courses from the 5th grade up to the 3rd high school.
