Ingredients
- Lemon poppy seed cake:
- 75 g butter, melted
- 15 g Poppy
- 1 tbsp lemon zest
- 3 Owner
- 230 g sugar
- 120 g fresh cream
- 170 g flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 0.5 tsp salt
- Lemon glaze:
- 100 g icing sugar
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- Decoration:
- Lemon zest, to taste
- Poppy seeds, to taste
- Lemon slices, cut in halves

Step 1
For the lemon poppy seed cake: Mix melted butter with poppy seeds and lemon zest.

Beat the eggs, sugar and crème fraîche for 2 minutes until frothy. Stir in the melted poppy seed butter. Sift the flour, baking powder and salt and add.

Pour the dough into a greased loaf pan (30 x 15 x 7 cm) and bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C top/bottom heat for about 50 minutes. Do the toothpick test!

Step 4
Allow the cake to cool slightly in the tin, then turn it out onto a wire rack and allow it to cool completely.

For the casting: Mix the lemon juice with the powdered sugar to make a thick glaze and spread it over the cake.

Step 6
Sprinkle with lemon zest and poppy seeds as desired and top with lemon slices.
