Immersion is the name of the game in Dungeons & Dragons. Unlike video games, where you can always see what’s in front of you, a lot of the power of D&D lies in you and your friends imagining what’s going on. But what if you might see things around you? What if you actually felt like you were in a tabletop game?
That’s what Resolution Games is trying to master with its Dungeons & Dragons VR game. No screenshots were revealed, nor was a release date announced, just the game’s launch, but Resolution Games founder and CEO Tommy Palm spoke of the team’s excitement.
“As anyone who has played Demeo can guess, we are big fans of tabletop role-playing games,” He said. “They have an unparalleled power to bring people together and create shared experiences, and that’s something we try to capture with nearly every edition in our library. Dungeons & Dragons offers the richest ever One of the worlds of fantasy, and it only gets bigger with every new sourcebook and adventure. This will be the first VR game in the Dungeons & Dragons universe. Following the success of Baldur’s Gate III, it’s clear there’s an audience for tabletop RPG video games, so let’s hope this game lives up to the expectations.
