Mr. Indra Sjafri is currently the technical director of the Indonesian Football Federation, concurrently being the head coach of the U-23 team to kick off the 32nd SEA Games in May next year in Cambodia (from 5 to 17).
The reason why the Indonesian Football Federation appointed Sjafri as the head coach of the U-23 team at the 32nd SEA Games is because the national team head coach Shin Tae-yong is busy preparing for the U-20 team to kick the U-20 World Cup in 2023. Indonesia is the host of the tournament. This year’s U-20 World Cup takes place from May 20 to June 11.
The U-20 of this young World Cup host also participates in the U-20 Asian Finals taking place from March 1 to 19 in Uzbekistan. In the qualifying round, Indonesia U-20 won the first place in the group, while U-20 Vietnam took the second place to win tickets to Uzbekistan.
Next SEA Games 32, U-23 Vietnam participates in men’s football as the defending champion. The Indonesian U-23 force is very good and their goal is to win the 32nd SEA Games championship.
