User RMK has released a Stealthrunner mod for Cyberpunk 2077 that expands the stealth component of the game with elements in the spirit of the Deus Ex and Dishonored series.
Stealthrunner adds five stealth-related objectives (passing without killing, attacking, detecting or suspecting, and rescuing residents) to all quests where this approach is applicable. This applies to main and side missions, orders (Gigs) and tasks of the Night City Police Department (NCPD Scanner Hustles). In addition, the mod introduces a new leveling tree with 11 perks that unlock new abilities, including pickpocketing, CCTV hacking without a cyberdeck, an energy shield that reduces damage in combat, and reduced footstep hearing range.
For completing tasks, players receive experience points, street reputation (Street Cred) and the ability to “Ninjutsu” (Ninjutsu), as well as money and blueprints. Completing a certain number of objectives of each type comes with separate rewards, including ability points, access to new perks, and blueprints for the new Iconic Weapons.
The author emphasized that the mod should not be considered as a large-scale processing of the stealth component: work on such improvements would take a lot of time (special refinement, according to his remark, requires enemy AI). Stealthrunner only makes existing stealth gameplay “more exciting”.
The mod is available on Nexus Mods. On his page you can find a detailed description of all new tasks, abilities and rewards.
In the comments to the trailer, users called the mod “incredible”. “I have a question for the developers, — wrote RMJ1984. — Why the hell is this not in the main game? Maybe they don’t understand how popular good stealth gameplay is?
On March 12, Cyberpunk 2077 received the first version of the HD Reworked Project, a high-resolution texture pack from modder Halk Hogan. In the past, he created a similar modification for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which was subsequently included by the developers from CD Projekt RED in the expanded edition.
Rebalance Megamod will also help improve the game (balance changesaffecting AI, abilities, stats, weapons, armor, and more), Metro System (adds a full subway with 19 stations), Let There Be Flight (allows cars fly) and Improved Environment LODs (increases the level of detail of the environment).
Last week, CD Projekt RED clarified that the Ray Tracing: Overdrive enhanced ray tracing mode will be coming to Cyberpunk 2077 on April 11th on PC. Now the studio continues to work on the Phantom Liberty story expansion, which will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S before the end of 2023.
