Massive Heist: Over $1.6 Million Worth of Alcohol Stolen from Florida Distribution Company

Thieves stole more than 4,200 cases containing bottles of Malibu and Jose Cuervo brand alcohol, worth more than $1.6 million US ($2.1 million Canadian), from a Florida distribution company.

An investigation was opened concerning this event which allegedly occurred on July 8 at the Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC) in Florida, reports the CNN network which was able to get its hands on a search warrant.

The act was allegedly committed between 4:10 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. when the thieves allegedly used tractor trailers to transport the 4,277 stolen boxes.

The authorities obtained videos from surveillance cameras of the establishment and the surrounding area which allowed them to identify and then find the trailers used.

No suspects have yet been arrested in this case.

“While we cannot comment at this time as this is an ongoing investigation, we are confident that the authorities are treating this matter seriously and are taking all necessary actions to find those who are responsible for this crime,” indicates the vice-president of communications of the RNDC.
