Recently, the government of Maui, Hawaii, USA confirmed that the wildfire has killed at least 114 people, and the search for missing persons in the town of Lahaina is still continuing.

According to reports, US President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden plan to visit Maui on August 21, local time.

So far, only six victims have been publicly identified, the report said. At least 2,200 buildings were destroyed and another 500 damaged in the affected area, with a total loss of $6 billion.

On the evening of the 18th local time, Hawaii Governor Josh Green and his wife Jamie Green gave a live speech in Honolulu. Josh Green said, “More than the material loss is the loss of precious lives. (They) are mothers, fathers, grandparents, sons and daughters.”

At present, 470 search and rescue personnel and 40 search and rescue dogs have been deployed to relevant areas. About 1,000 federal responders are on the scene in Maui, a senior FEMA official said.
