In the Verkhneuralsky district of the Chelyabinsk region, a fire broke out at the Uzelginsky mine of the Uchalinsky mining and processing plant (Bashkortostan, part of the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company). At a depth of 520 m, a front-end loader caught fire, Kommersant was told in the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the region.
The fire started today, April 19, in the followingnoon. At that time, there were 347 people in the mine. Of these, 346 independently evacuated to the surface. In the shaft where the loader caught fire, the mine rescuers found a worker and brought him to the surface. He didn’t get hurt. Two pieces of equipment and ten employees of the militarized mine rescue unit are involved in the elimination of the fire.
“The Uchalinsky GOK confirms the fact of a fire in the loader assembly at the Uzelginskoye field. The forces of the VGSCh were involved in the elimination of the fire. Workers employed on this horizon are brought to the surface. No one was injured, ”the company’s press service commented to Kommersant.
