Massive Drug Bust in Jeddah Port: Saudi Arabia’s Fight Against Drug Smuggling

RIYADH: A huge drug bust in the port of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. More than 400,000 intoxicating pills were seized during customs inspection. An attempt was made to smuggle the shipment that reached the port by skillfully hiding it.

A large quantity of drug pills was found in the shipments of curtains and accessories that arrived at Jeddah port. 4,16,250 intoxicating pills were seized during the inspection.

These were expertly concealed within the curtain fittings. These were found during the customs inspection conducted with the help of expertly trained dog Scodin. Massive arrangements have been made across the country to prevent the smuggling of narcotic drugs into Saudi Arabia.

In addition to surveillance and inspections with state-of-the-art systems, expertly trained personnel are on duty round the clock. Inspection systems at all land, air and sea borders are strengthened. Officials have warned that if caught trying to smuggle drugs, they will face severe punishment.
