A colossal theft of more than $20 million worth of gold and valuables was allegedly committed this week at Toronto’s Pearson airport, police have confirmed.
At a press conference on Thursday evening, Peel Regional Police Inspector Stephen Duivesteyn confirmed the theft of “a high value container”.
This would have been committed Monday evening, following the landing of a plane at the international airport.
“It’s something very rare,” he added.
According to the Toronto Sun, it would be 3600 pounds of gold that would have been stolen, or 1633 kg.
