Masseuse sues US billionaire for sexual assault

38-year-old Kellye Croft accuses Dolan of forcing her to have sex in 2013 and of arranging a meeting with Weinstein in 2014, during which the ex-Hollywood mogul, who has now been convicted of abuse and rape several times, also abused her.

Dolan is the general manager of the famous Madison Square Garden in New York and the owner of the New York Knicks basketball team and the New York Rangers ice hockey team. He denies Croft’s allegations, as does Weinstein.

According to the lawsuit, Dolan hired Croft as a masseuse for rock musician Glenn Frey of the legendary Eagles in 2013 when she was 27. In the lawsuit that Croft filed in a Los Angeles court, she describes how that dream job turned into a nightmare when Dolan also booked massage appointments with her during an Eagles tour.

Always pressured into sex

The businessman was “extremely confident” and “extremely manipulative” and repeatedly pressured Croft into sex during these appointments, the lawsuit says. Croft didn’t want the sex, but “felt obligated” to do it.

In January 2014, Croft rejoined the Eagles in Los Angeles. Dolan arranged a meeting with Weinstein there. Weinstein first asked her to give him a massage and try on clothes. He then sexually harassed her in her bathrobe. In this context, Croft also accuses the 68-year-old Dolan of human trafficking. “James Dolan manipulated me, took me to California to abuse me, and then subjected me to a vicious attack by Weinstein,” she said through her lawyer.

Weinstein is serving a 23-year prison sentence in New York for sexual abuse and rape and was sentenced to an additional 16 years in prison in a trial in Los Angeles. The revelations regarding him and his abuse of power in Hollywood led to the emergence of the #MeToo movement in 2017. Dozens of women have accused the once-celebrated film producer of sexual assault and even rape.
