The change was also in Rio Negro society.
The forceful message and the libertarian vintage of the Primaries declined although it was enough to materialize the emergence of Lorena Villaverde in Rio Negro politics. She is already an elected representative, but her strength must still compete in the runoff for the Presidency. It would then help libertarians to overcome their fights quickly adopted by the vices of the old party organizations.
The Peronist front, today led by Sergio Massa, recovered capital and, in Río Negro, UP grew 11 points in relation to the Primaries.
Without surprises, Martín Soria from Roque will once once more be a deputy. He already won. It was his priority objective and, therefore, he resigned all quarrels – past and present – and agreed with Senator Martín Doñate.
The presidential section did the rest. In 2021, the FdT obtained 23% and was not in the distribution of seats in the Lower House. Yesterday, that section grew to regarding 33%. But, five points less than Massa’s harvest. This cut means regarding 31,000 votes.
That leak – mostly – fell on white votes, which was almost 9%. Voters from Juan Schiaretti (We Do for Our Country) also contributed to this destination, without a ballot for Deputies.
In that spill, JSRN also captured votes and grew from 9% of PASO to 14% yesterday. It was not enough to take third place from JxC and, therefore, he lost the bank he had at stake.
In Viedma, support for Luis Di Giácomo rose to 22% (it had been 12%) while Soria had a cut of 10 points. That difference was around one point in Roca.
Attendance at the polls in Río Negro rose by almost 8% (almost 50,000 voters) but, in terms of votes, JxC fell almost 10,000 in relation to PASO. This detriment is explained by the decline of Patricia Bullrich, with national and provincial quarrels.
He suffered it, that alliance placed – with 16% – Sergio Capozzi as the third deputy. UP, with fewer leaks and thus 2,000 more votes, would have doubled JxC and achieved two seats.
Last night, from Cipolletti, the elected governor Alberto Weretilneck accepted the cost of the loss of Di Giácomo’s seat although, at the municipal level, he compensated with the strategic triumphs in the municipalities of Sierra Grande and Jacobacci, which required them as aligned by the debates that will come regarding their oil and mining plans. A data: the five municipal governments lost (4 from the FdT and 1 from the UCR).
JSRN’s victories were three, with Sierra Colorada, and thus it repaired part of its map. Today, its force has 19 municipalities but, with the future replacement, it will lose six: Bariloche, Dina Huapi, Maquinchao, Allen, Catriel and Regina. Ñorquinco had already won and, now, it included three others. Thus, the provincial ruling party will field 17 mayors.
Furthermore, Weretilneck embraced the “Grand Deal radicals” who won in Chichinales and Belisle.
And he continued when he hinted at JSRN’s future alignment for the presidential runoff. He clarified that the party debate will be opened but he announced that “obviously it will be with Massa.”
He did not express doubts, as it was a pre-existing certainty.
