Now, you know, they say “sex assigned at birth”, as if there were a team of selected agents, halfway between a technical scientific committee and a firing squad, that goes from cradle to cradle to assign against the grain to unaware and helpless infants who are not yet able to understand and want, much less to choose their “gender identity”. Unaware victims of a system that wants to pigeonhole them at all costs into that ancient and medieval thing of sexual binarism according to which the sexes are only and exclusively two, that is, male and female. As if the Bible said so. Fortunately today fluidity reigns and does not even spare neonatology.
And starting next year, Massachusetts will offer a third option on newborn birth certificates: “non-binary.”. As Wikipedia explains, so-called non-binary identities are those «igender identities that are outside of the binary, i.e. not strictly masculine or feminine. Non-binary people may identify as belonging to more than one gender (bigender), to no gender (agender), or oscillating between genders». The “step forward” was possible because Rep. Mindy Domb successfully introduced an amendment to Gov. Maura Healey’s FY2025 state budget bill, signed last month, that made the change. In the name of inclusion, of course.
When the amendment began its journey last year, Senator Karen Spilka said: «Giving people the opportunity to andBeing who you are is a human right, and we are proud to extend it to every member of the Commonwealth, regardless of how they identify.”then he had stated «Allowing a non-binary option for state licenses and birth certificates is critical to building a society that welcomes, protects, and respects all individuals.”. As if before this measure individuals were not respected.
At this point Massachusetts residents will only need to submit a signed affidavit «certifying that the request is consistent with the person’s gender identity and is not made for any fraudulent purpose». Which would also be comical, if it didn’t have a certain tragic quality. At that point the infamous “sex assigners at birth” would be defeated by this new wave of civilization that, not satisfied with having created confusion among adults and children, now begins to have a say in who comes into the world. Healthy and incontestable carriers of that healthy factor called nature. (Photo: Pexels.com/Pexels.com)
