The DSDS winner Pietro Lombardi wanted to watch a film in peace with his wife, child and dogs on Halloween – then he heard bangs.
The 31-year-old singer saw masked men trying to break a window into the apartment.
The burglars fled across the neighboring property. The Lombardi family is shocked. Now Pietro wants to increase security precautions.
What begins as a cozy movie night with the family turns into a thriller for the Lombardis. “It rang a few times at first – but that’s normal on Halloween,” says DSDS winner Pietro Lombardi (31) on Instagram. Because he wanted to be left alone with his wife Laura Maria Rypa (27), son Leano (1) and the dogs, they went up to the bedroom to watch a film. The family is just moved into their new house in October.
Ten minutes later it goes “pam, pam, pam” downstairs. Pietro suspects that children are playing tricks on each other. But Laura Maria disagrees. To her it sounds like more than a childish prank. And indeed: Pietro runs in the direction of the noise and sees “masked people trying to break the window with something.”
While he speaks and tells the camera on Instagram, Pietro sighs several times, buries his face in his hands, and shakes his head. Then he raises his index finger and turns to the masked people: “You bastards, you dirty children! Whoever touches my family, I swear to you, you dogs!” After a cut, the singer apologizes for his escape tirade. «My wife and my child were in the house. If something had happened to them, I might never forgive myself.”
Attempted burglary leaves traces
The burglars flee across the neighboring property when they see Pietro. «Be glad I didn’t grab one of you. I wouldn’t have let you go, I swear to you.” On Instagram, Ms. Laura Maria shows what traces the attempted break-in left on the door. The door frame is deformed and the glass pane has cracks in the lower area.

“We are glad that no one was in here, that it was just this shock,” says Pietro Lombardi. However, the shock is deep. “I definitely won’t sleep a wink tonight, under any circumstances. I’m so fucking angry.” Talking regarding the attempted break-in helps him process what he experienced.
This is how you protect yourself once morest burglars
Winter time began on Sunday. The shorter days mean less sunlight and therefore more opportunities for burglars. These are the prevention tips from the cantonal police:
Make sure that all doors and windows are always closed or locked. Tilted windows are open windows.
Even when you’re away, give the impression that you’re at home. For example, with motion detectors, timers for lamps and/or televisions.
Prevent a direct view into the living area.
Leave valuables and cash in a safe place, especially when you are away on vacation.
Inform your neighbors if you are going to be away for a long time.
Tell the police (117) if you see suspicious behavior. These include, for example, strangers roaming around the neighborhood, vehicles driving through the neighborhood “searching” and noises such as windows rattling or wood splintering.
If possible, you shouldn’t touch anything following a break-in so that the police don’t cover their tracks.
The singer praises the police, who came very quickly. She checked whether any of the masked people were still hiding in or around the house and gave the all-clear. Laura Maria is still afraid to sleep. For Pietro there is now only one solution: the security measures must be expanded. Cameras are already recording the entrance area to her house, as pictures from Laura Maria on Instagram show. There she pilloried one of the filmed burglars. “That’s the man,” she writes on the video recording, which shows a man ringing the Lombardis’ doorbell several times.
Pietro wants to hire security guards. Something like that should never happen once more. “I hope you never have to experience this,” the singer says to his fans. Pietro resolves not to live in fear despite the incident. “We are happy, we have a nice house.” The family should enjoy their life in their new home together.
