Mask, alimony, electoral lists, restaurant tickets: what is changing in March

The lifting of certain Covid-related obligations entered into force on Monday February 28 and will fully apply in March. Beyond that, certain changes occur with consequences for households.

End of wearing a mask in closed places subject to the vaccination pass. Since Monday, February 28, the French can do without the mask in closed places where the vaccination pass is compulsory such as bars, cafes, restaurants, stadiums, sports halls, cinemas, libraries… On the other hand, the mask remains compulsory in the public transport (TGV, metro and bus) as well as in health facilities. As far as department stores and shopping centers are concerned, this will depend on prefectural orders.

A single test for contact cases. Following the opinion of the High Council for Public Health (HCSP), the government has decided to impose a single test on vaccinated contact cases, instead of three. More expensive tobacco. Some brands of cigarettes will increase their prices with increases of 10 cents per pack from Tuesday. For cigars, the increase may be 50 euro cents. On the other hand, the price of certain rolling tobacco drops will drop slightly.

The ceiling for restaurant tickets remains at 38 euros. Initially the ceiling of 38 euros was to end on February 28 to return to 19 euros. This ceiling of 38 euros is extended until the end of June to support catering.

This obligation will apply to all establishments offering meals to eat in or take away, but also school canteens and company restaurants. The labeling must also specify whether the meat is fresh, chilled, frozen or deep-frozen.
