While Sony hasn’t announced a “PlayStation Showcase” yet this year, developers Insomniac Games mentioned Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 during a stream… They seem sure of themselves.
Since the release of God of War Ragnarok in November 2022, we’ve been waiting for PlayStation to draw its next (big) cartridge… Of course, all eyes are on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the sequel to the adventures of the famous superhero concocted by Insomniac Games studio. It’s simple, since its announcement in September 2021, we haven’t seen any new videos. At the end of last year, Sony nevertheless specified that this second episode will be released in the fall of 2023. Months pass: no news, except for rumors of corridors which praise, in turn, the qualities of the title.
Insomniac takes the floor
Today, it’s a much more official source who speaks – since it’s Jon Paquette, narrative director of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2! In a Twitch live on the previous installment (reported by Twitter user Evan Filacra), the developer expressed his enthusiasm for the new opus.

A beautiful promise. Beyond Marvel’s Spider-Man and its sequel Miles Morales, which both received very good critical acclaim, Insomniac Games is also behind the “Ratchet & Clank” series. Its last episode Rift Apart, released in 2021, proved to be an excellent mix between action, adventure, in addition to being a real technical spearhead for the PlayStation 5. In short, whether for know-how | the almost irreproachable CV of his studio, Spider-Man 2 will undoubtedly be a very good title.
News that is long overdue
Of course, we’d love to check that out for ourselves… According to media outlet VGC and insider Jeff Grubb, there’s not much left to wait for. A PlayStation Showcase, a big E3-type video show where the brand presents all its new products, should be held at the end of May 2023. The well-informed journalist even advances the date of May 25. If the event takes place, it is certain that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be there. At this point, all that remains is to wait for confirmation from PlayStation.
